February 9th Electing Convention Draws Near

With the Electing Convention this Saturday, February 9th at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, we reach another milestone in our journey along a prayerful and thoughtful process of discernment and transition to name our 10th Bishop. We hope everyone has taken the opportunity to learn more about the five nominees and the skills and vision each has to offer. We are indeed blessed to have such a highly qualified slate to consider.

You are invited to watch the Electing Convention and announcement of the results live Saturday February 9th beginning at 9:45a.m., and urge you to gather members of your parish to watch this important event:

Bishop Quest Prayer, written by The Reverend Canon Nancy Moore, Chaplain

God of Grace, we give you thanks for all the blessings of our common life and ministries as the episcopal Diocese of Maine. We thank you for the faithful work of the Discernment Committee and for all who have offered themselves to your service in this season of change. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless the Transition Committee, and to infuse this process with the gifts of faith, hope and love. We give thanks and pray for Anne, Janet, Ken, Rachel, and Thomas. May they be filled with vision, courage, patience and hope as our work of discernment continues. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen

Patricia Welton, Chair
The Transition Committee
