February 9, 2019

The electing convention will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 (with Saturday, February 23, as a snow date) at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.

Letter from Bishop Lane Regarding the Special Convention
Please read through the information Bishop Steve shares here to help prepare.

Registration for Delegates & Canonically Resident Clergy
Only canonically resident clergy and duly elected delegates may register using the form below:

Late registration will close on 18 January 2019, and no later registrations will be accepted.
Alternates may only register if they are replacing a delegate, and only after the change has been made.

To secure the convention floor and to protect the voters from electioneering, there will be no Visitors’ Gallery. The entire convention will be livestreamed so that all may witness the process. Information about how to access the livestream will be made available here and in The Dio Log. The worship booklet (prayers and music) will also be available electronically here.

Congregations are invited to organize viewing events so interested parishioners can gather, watch, listen and pray together, and then celebrate a successful election.  All results will also be posted as soon as possible to the official Diocese of Maine website and social media platforms.

List of Lay Delegates & Certificates of Delegates
Most congregations in Maine have already designated their electing convention delegates. Below is a list of the lay delegates that have been certified:  Diocese of Maine Electing Convention Lay Delegates as of 26 November 2018

An Electing Convention Certificate has been emailed to those congregations that have not yet certified their electing convention delegates. This form will be due on January 2nd and will need to be signed by the rector, priest-in-charge or senior warden (in absence of a priest).

If you have any questions, have yet to certify your delegates or need to make changes, please contact Teresa at tpinney@episcopalmaine.org.
